  Anything we can say about Edward is conjecture based on very little evidence. He appears on his daughter Emma’s marriage certificate in 1867 as ‘Edward Warren, coachman’. He had a relative called George Warren, who signed as a witness on that certificate. The only census on which he may have been found so far is that of 1861, on which there is an Edward Warren born in Earl Stonham, Suffolk in about 1810 who is married to a Sarah born in Ipswich in about 1806; but this Edward is a coach body maker, not a coachman. He can be traced through later censuses to Finsbury and Bethnal Green, but may not be the man we are looking for. Then there is the identity of his wife. On 20th August 1843 an Edward Warren married a Sarah Ashwood in Walkern, Hertford. We know that Emma Warren, daughter of our Edward and Sarah, was born in Hertfordshire, so these are candidates for her parents, but we cannot be sure. More research needed.
